My favourite picks from MMB’s Social Shopper
'Sometimes I want raccoon or red highlights'
(Yah, we all know my style envy for Alexa Chung goes so far as to idolism infatuation.)Today wasn’t a day of excitement, due to the fact that well my life, at the moment, is as exciting as bread and cheese. And not the good kind. Today though, I read this really interesting article on TeenVogue.com about ‘style envy.’ Style envy is-more or less-being highly jealous of...
Do certain pieces instantly make you feel more feminine?
Beautiful shoes! My favorites are a pair from Louboutin in Daffodile beige and my winter orange ones from Zanotti– I always feel more powerful when wearing them.
Most memorable style advice?
I always remind myself of something Vreeland once said, “The only real elegance is in the mind; if you’ve got that, the rest really comes from...

Alexander Wang’s Simona’s remind me very much of Carrie Bradshaw and her fluffy shoe collection.

One truth(that was sort of a lie): I’m not a very ambitious person. Personally, I find myself to be a bit of a procrastinator;I tend to hold out on doing things, usually things I find tiresome or boring. That’s just how I am. Though I have ambitions, I don’t think I am on a high scale of ambitious. I’m not very competive, either; I just work hard, and do my best and see...

“Frida Kahlo: Her Photos,” opening today at the Artisphere arts center in Arlington, Virginia, features a fraction of that massive collection, made public in 2007. As the first and only space in the Unites States to showcase over 250 never-before-seen photographs of and by Kahlo (the prints are actually meticulous facsimiles; Rivera decreed that none of the originals be taken out of Mexico), the...

The sunhshine is a liar
In your mother’s clothing
It gathers milk
And leaves you with loathing
You’re stuck
Inside your own haystack
Wiggling your brains
Kissing the mack
You wish
You had a rainbow
To float into your own personal sky
And create the jukebox
Of all you desire
Music isn’t enough
Art is just a loner
Books are just heavyweights
And sports a stoner
You need identity
It’s your only...

I love the contrast on this photo. The big blue bag, thrown along the orange pant and pointy red shoes. Fantastic!
Hanne Gaby’s looks are usually not my favourite-although she dresses very nicely-but this look is spectacular. Not only does she look amazing, but it’s so put together, it has an almost minimalistic feel to it.
Words cannot really explain why i’m immediately...

I love Lea Seydoux as has been demonstrated here. She’s just plain fabulous and beautiful, and of course, French. It took WhoWhatWear no time, to figure this out and I love the little inspiration board they made for her…

The Helmut Lang Fall 2012 show was a classic twist on classics. It focused on the lace-ish print and fur types I’ve been seeing around, with a touch of leather here and there. I can say it hasn’t landed on my favourites list, but was a enjoyable browse.

As the Buying Director for Net-a-Porter, it would only be natural for her to be spectacularly stylish. She states that if she had a uniform, it would include “a pair of Isabel Marant wedge trainers, boxy tweeds and slouchy silk collarless shirts from Theysken’s Theory, and Hawaiian print pants from Stella.”

It is fairly safe to assume that Sofía Sanchez Barrenechea’s apartment is the only one in the West Village with a floor-to-ceiling view of Patagonia. Sanchez Barrenechea, a 25-year-old graphic designer who grew up in Buenos Aires, decorated an entire wall with a mural she created from a photo of the lake where her family spent their summers. “It’s the first thing I see when I wake up,” she says....

It should be known that I have many(a lot, really) of sartorial dreams. Most of the time, they pop up on streetstyle blogs, usually Stockholm Streetstyle. But today, for the first time ever I decided to browse Mr.Newton, and more specifically, his archives. And I have to say, I was on a sartorial cloud.
The high waisted shorts, the (silk?) blouse, the tights, and the big ring, are all things...

My obsession with finding a pair of overalls(regular or short) has reached a point, where most dream outfits, include a pair. This is Maria from Sweden and her overall look(he he) is spectacular. She looks beyond. Plus her shoes are a plus.

I like this shot of a person’s accessories because they seriously look like things that have meaning in the person’s life, not something worn to be noticed.

Fashion Week seemed to be filled with Mongolian lamb and I was extraordinarily jealous. I even re-read Joan Juliet’s Buck’s Technicolor Dreams from the October 2010 issue of Vogue.
I feel the need to purchase an Iphone, just so that I can get this uber cool owl phone covering.

If there was anymore reason for me to fall in love with French fashion, it’s Maje. Their pieces are so beautiful and fit in the criteria of what I call, “my style”. I’m hooting horns here, so check out Maje and find your favourite looks and pieces.

I’ve been wanting to Google this ever since I read Zoe Carter Fitzgerald piece in the March 2011 issue of Vogue. I’m not an art critic, but from what I gather the picture is sort of a scrutiny of the young girl’s body. The older figure or the mother, is determined to have her daughter look a certain way. a lot of girls...

Lea Seydoux is not only a stunning actress she is a top notch dresser. Her style is very French, effortless, cool, somehow the same but very different. And of course, having her first pair of Louboutins from the maestro himself(he’s her dad’s best friend), are probably a big step in dressing on the mark.
A sartorial dream always comes in the best form. Real life. Street style. I love her “graphic” tee and navy coat. Silver pumps are definitely a bonus.

Chloe has a special place in my heart since it was one of the first fashion labels that captured me and sent me to this world. I’ve always thought it was the poster girl for “Parisian chic” and that’s very evident in Resort 2012. It’s basic, it’s effortless, and is filled with that je ne sais quois everybody just loves.

Theyskens Theory Spring 2012 RTW
With the knowledge of what a “cool, downtown(New York) girl” wears, Olivier Theyskens Spring 2012 RTW, was the epitome of cool girl chic. I can just imagine strutting through downtown New York in anything from this collection, and feeling just like I belong. Even if I’m a country girl, housing overalls in my tote. The collection itself had a good feeling. I applaud Theyskens...

The Girl Equation:Theyskens Theory Fall 2012
I’ve said it once, and just like a cheesy, oldie, I will say it again. Olivier Theyskens is beyond cool. He’s just beyond! His fall show is definitely one of my favorites, with it’s sheer legs, shorter hemlines, and over all cool. It showed a side of fall many people are afraid to try. For lots(not including me) fall is about layering up. The wind is cheekier and bites more often, and...

ADAM Spring 2012 RTW
ADAM’s Spring 2012 RTW, was in all aspects, spectacular. The presence of floral print dresses and brown sandals, it captured the aspects of spring perfectly. And with all these beautiful pieces who wouldn’t beg for spring to come?
Disappointment from my Favorite
I never thought there would be a day these words would come out of mouth, or my fingers, but I was thoroughly disappointed with Rag&Bone’s collection for Fall 2012. David Neville and Marcus Wainwright showcased their talent extraordinarily well, but I didn’t experience that pumping heartbeat-belly jumping feeling I get every time I look at a Rag&Bone show. However, I do...

Ruby Aldridge
Aldridge, who has catwalked for Prada, Gucci, Dior, Proenza Schouler and Miu Miu, starred in last year’s Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign and is one of the new faces of Valentino, is having a moment. This shouldn’t come as any surprise to the British, who have always had a fondness for the Aldridges: her mother is Laura Lyons, an American model and former Playboy Playmate, and her father is...

The 'Patty Ho' Way
Breaking news: you don’t have to read some complicated books to get silver lined advice clouds. Just read Justina Chen Headley. I recently finished reading her book, Nothing but the Truth(and a few white lies) and I absolutely loved it. Patty was funny, witty, and seemed to be an echo of some of my thoughts. Spooky. And so, I learnt a few valueable lessons and now I’m going the...
Love Hanneli’s top(thinking it’s Rag and Bone) and she pairs it nicely with a neutral “belted” skirt.

The Birkin Effect
I know I’m not the biggest Jane Birkin supporter, preferring Brigitte Bardot over the highly loved style icon. But I cannot deny that Birkin has some great style. It was simple but sleek. She’s a huge sartorial inspiration for many and Googling:jane birkin’s style, took me to the great pictures I exhibit below:
Note her basic tee and jean style, that has become a great...
